Aurora Aksnes, born June 15th of 1995 in Stavanger and known professionally as Aurora or, sometimes, stylized in the form of AURORA is a Norwegian musician and singer. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves, released in May 2015 by Decca Records to great approval of bloggers in the music industry and media. She's recorded a variety of well-known cover songs, including Half the World Away (by Oasis) for the Christmas advert. Oasis) for John Lewis' Christmas advert as well as Nature Boy (by Nat King Cole) and were widely appreciated. Katy Perry shared a tweet in which Perry made a splash with her track Runaway. It was her birthday celebration. Aurora Aksnes first musical memory was discovering a piano in her loft and being intrigued by its sounds. Jan Oystein Aksnes and May-Britt Aksnes encouraged her to learn music not to get a job or a hobby however, as a chance to develop. Thus, she began with her own music. She credits renowned composers Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan as influences as well as an affinity for Bjork's style. When her mother said that her songs can not only aid in her efforts to gain fame, however, they could also help others understand their significance within the global community and see how they can benefit from her songs, she decided to begin singing in public. As a young girl she started playing the piano, and when she was nine began writing her own songs. She didn't tell her family about her music until she reached 14. Aurora's fame was not the goal of her. The only thing she loves is writing songs. She believes that music can help anyone feel better.
